PVC Floor-to-Wall Transition Profiles and Slatwall Systems for Commercial Fit-Outs

Read Time:6 Minute, 30 Second

Every commercial flooring project runs into the same moment: the floor is finished, the walls are painted, and then someone has to solve the joint where the two meet. Done badly, that joint collects dirt, cracks at the toe, and looks unfinished in photographs. Done well, it disappears into the design. At Jiangyin Mengyi Plastic Co., Ltd., that joint has been our business since 1998 — and the MONGYI YILIAN range covers both sides of it: cove base profiles that carry PVC flooring up the wall, and modular slatwall systems that turn the wall above into merchandising space.

One Profile, Two Jobs: Cove Base and Wall Panel Combined

Our YILIAN yilian-63 through yilian-67 range is an extruded PVC profile engineered specifically for projects where sheet vinyl or PVC plank flooring runs up the wall. In the product photography the profile reads as a pale beige plank with a soft wood-grain face and a contrasting grey edge band running the full length. Look at the end of the profile and the shape does the explaining: a gentle radius curve where the floor turns into the wall, then a flat face that rises to the wall panel height.

That single extrusion replaces two separate site operations. Contractors no longer need a flat skirting board plus a separate cove fillet plus a capping trim. The profile provides the wall liner, the skirting, and the rounded transition in one piece, which means fewer materials on the purchase order, fewer joints to seal, and a cleaner handover.

The rounded corner is not cosmetic. A radius instead of a sharp internal angle removes the crevice where dust and moisture collect, which is why the range suits hospitals, clinics and laboratories as readily as it suits offices. The grey edge band protects the cut line and gives installers a consistent visual reference when they set out a long corridor wall.

Why the material matters: the profile is PVC, extruded in one pass — flexible enough to handle impact without cracking, dimensionally stable in humid rooms, and immune to the swelling that wood-based skirting suffers in wet areas. It does not need painting, does not grow mould, and wipes clean with a damp cloth. Site teams can cut it with standard hand tools, which keeps installation fast and avoids specialist subcontractors.

A Slatwall Range Built Around Hook Fit

The YILIAN slatwall line is organised the way a shopfitter actually thinks — by groove format, not by catalogue page. Three families cover the market:

Single groove (yilian-1 to yilian-9): a single-slot display wall for standard single-groove hooks, shelf brackets and display baskets. Available in wood grain, black, white and light grey, with different base structures across the model numbers so buyers can match load requirements and fixing methods to the wall behind.

Narrow groove (yilian-10 to yilian-17): a tighter slot spacing that suits denser merchandising — jewellery, small hardware, fishing tackle, sample walls in studios and trade show booths. Same colour palette, same lock-together installation logic.

Double groove (yilian-18 to yilian-27): the standard twin-slot panel that most retail display systems are built around, matched to the widest range of hooks and brackets. Panel faces are flat, slot positions are consistent, and the base clip structures differ across models to meet different load and installation scenarios.

The stacked product shot in our range photography shows the four finishes side by side — warm wood grain, light grey, white and black — with the extruded slot profile clearly visible along the base of each panel. That image is useful for buyers precisely because it shows the engineering: the groove is formed in the extrusion, not routed afterwards, so every panel in every shipment carries the same slot geometry.

All panels are foamed PVC, which keeps them light enough for one person to handle and position while still holding their shape. The surface is film-laminated and resists scraping; dust and fingerprints come off with a cloth. Panels join with lock-together edges, so a full display wall goes up without visible seams and without a wet trade on site.

Trims and Accessories That Finish the Wall

A display wall is only as good as its edges. Three accessory families close the system:

U-shaped edge trim (yilian-34, yilian-35, yilian-36): three opening sizes that clip over the cut edge of a slatwall panel. The trim hides the cut face and the raw edge, prevents chipping during handling and installation, and gives the wall end a clean vertical line. Light grey finish, matching the tone used across the range.

H-shaped connector (yilian-55 to yilian-58): a double-sided slot that accepts two panel edges at once, pulling them into alignment and locking the joint. This is what keeps a long run of slatwall flat and level rather than stepping where panels meet. Four sizes cover the different groove widths in the range.

Aluminium wall panel trims (yilian-79 to yilian-87): for projects using integrated wall boards, this is the finishing set — internal corner, external corner, I-join, U-edge and L-cap profiles in wood-transfer, black and white finishes. Extruded aluminium holds a sharp edge and will not bow, so corners stay crisp on a hotel corridor or a hospital reception wall.

Wall Boards: Carbon Crystal, Snow Crystal and Wood Grain

Where a project calls for a decorative wall face rather than a slatwall, the YILIAN board range (yilian-68 to yilian-102) covers marble-look and multiple wood-grain surfaces on a polymer composite substrate. The boards arrive pre-finished — no on-site painting, no drying time — and cut with ordinary tools, so a corridor refurbishment can be phased without shutting the building. The impact-resistant construction suits circulation areas where trolleys and luggage pass close to the wall. Boards are supplied as single sample panels or as full runs for complete wall coverage, and both size and surface pattern can be specified.

Factory Background Buyers Can Verify

Jiangyin Mengyi Plastic Co., Ltd. was founded in 1998 and is one of the earliest manufacturers in China dedicated to PVC products. The main factory sits in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, with a second factory established in Taizhou in 2019. Multiple complete production lines run in-house, and both colour and dimension can be customised — tooling, extrusion and finishing under one roof, which is how quality is controlled from the raw material rather than at final inspection. The technical and service teams respond to buyer questions directly, and the company's stated position is straightforward: quality first, service as the growth path, and keeping its word.

Where These Systems Are Specified

The applications overlap more than buyers expect. A hospital needs cove base for hygiene and slatwall or wall boards for notice areas. A school needs impact resistance at corridor level and display capacity in classrooms. An office fit-out needs a clean floor-to-wall line and a wall system that can be reconfigured without rebuilding. Retail — jewellery, hardware, fishing tackle, music shops — lives on slatwall because the display changes with every season. Exhibition contractors favour the panels because they are light, cut on site, and pack flat between shows.

Working With Us

For distributors, the value is range coherence: profile, panel, edge trim, connector and aluminium trim are specified from one source, in matching finishes, so a single purchase order covers a complete wall system. Lengths and colours are made to order. Send us your wall drawings, groove format and finish requirements, and we will match them to the closest YILIAN model numbers and confirm the specification before production.
